This? This she could do. Adaar had been disappointed to find out that the beast that reminded her of a dragon crossed with something else she'd killed for its skin or because it had been attacking her was more nug-like than anything else. Oddly endearing, but not the sort of thing she’s used to having to deal with — those required far more arrows. The 'we need people to go and protect this thing and shoot anything that tries to kill it' thing? That was more her style. It was straightforward, she was probably not getting paid remotely as much as the mission called for, and there was the underlying promise of violence — it reminded her of her time with the Valo-Kas more than anything else she's done in the Inquisition.
It's when the things start attacking that she realizes it's a perfect mix of both — the dangerous wildlife of her time as Inquisitor mixed with simple routines that characterized her time as a mercenary. In a word: perfect. No one expects her to engage in politics here, and considering that the last thing she remembers about Thedas is feeling out of place and unwelcome at the Winter Palace — like she was going to step on some woman’s expensive jeweled slipper and been thrown out, this is a vast improvement.
There's movement off to the side — Adaar has an arrow notched and her bow drawn as soon as anyone else can blink, and when whatever it is takes a jump at the behemoth, Adaar is ready for it.
Less so the unlucky individual in between the creature and its prey. Adaar shoots the arrow at the same time she yells "Get back!" in a voice that booms and resonates with a practiced authority. There’s no mistaking that this woman is used to being obeyed — experience, maybe, or the fact that she’s seven feet tall with horns curving back from her head.
Either or, really.
