Oh I read so much about animals when I was in the Circle! We have dogs, cats, horses, druffalo, chickens, rams, sheep... the Dalish elves have halla and harts, and the dwarves have nugs, though I don't know if those are so much domesticated as too stupid to run when someone's hungry. My friend is looking into breeding them, though, so maybe soon.
Probably the king or queen is most valued normally, except when everything is on fire and someone else is more useful. Like me.
Officially recorded history is only about nine hundred years old, and everything before that is scattered, difficult to source, or simply myth. Unofficially, the Tevinter Imperium and the Dalish have their own records, though they're hard to access for their own reasons.
Ugh. Well, I'm willing to look at any system with less kidnapping and mass slaughter, but I suppose they can't all work.
