People once thought the Earth was flat. The Egyptians believed that the brain was a useless mass of tissue and the heart was what a person would think and feel with. And then there's just the advancements in science and technology in the last hundred years...
How can you be certain that what you consider magic, that apparently defies logic and physics, doesn't just expand or deepen what we know at this point?
Not to say that it isn't surreal because it is, but if my stance is a little too convenient, I'd say yours could stand to be a little more flexible and open. It sounds as though you've already had proof that there is more to the world than what you'd initially thought.
