But she was aware that there was something up and she didn't want to be too... pushy. She was trying to be normal, which isn't really her speed, so she's not sure how to do that.

As to how to pick which place to go, that... honestly she wasn't sure. She was a lot better at calling the shots with girls than with dates. She tried, for various reasons, to let the guy take the lead and see where it took them. "If that's how you want to choose, sounds fun!" Not the most orthodox of ways to pick where to go, but certainly more entertaining than arguing over it. Let fate decide, fate was usually good to her.
