He's so busy on his mission that he doesn't expect the sudden appearance of a man right in front of him. He stops mid-jog, and indeed he is ready for an attack. Steve raises his arm, activating the energy shield using his wrist device, and holds it up like he expects Castiel to suddenly take a swing.]
