Kaneki tries to be nice, really. He has a lot of abandonment issues so BEING NICE SO PEOPLE WON'T LEAVE ME is kinda what he does. If someone is nice to him, he tends to approach.
Yeah, the whole thing is super cool. But I'm very biased ahaha
