Quantum Tentacles OOC Plotting
So this basically falls into TWO PARTS: the first part is aimed at Science/Tech types, and the second is aimed at anyone who wants to be involved/affected by weird connections to someone else.
The Precursor: on Feb 10th some weird tech comes through the portal. Basically I'm looking for any and all interested characters to poke at it, leading into the device activating on the 12th. Prometheus Labs is going to be involved, but basically it's still open to other science-types to poke and try and figure out what the tech does. The tech involvesweaponizing manipulating the principle of quantum entanglement and some level of re-writing the laws of physics. Nothing to worry about, clearly. The tech is a large device with a central unit and tentacles that contain smaller units which need to be hooked into a power source (from a certain point of view it looks strangely like the hydra symbol, but that's clearly coincidental...)
Effects: The effects are mostly on the lines of skill shares, seeing through other peoples' eyes, feeling their emotions, knowing if they're hurt and any sort of stuff along that lines that people want to play with. Information sharing is possible to the limits of whatever people are comfortable with. Power-sharing is also possible as well as memories, but the later mostly comes in fragments and is generally more *recent* memories, or memories that someone is actively reflecting on instead of just random past events.
The machine causes a one-way link between two people. One is the transmitter and one is the receiver. Thus reciprocal links are possible, just not the most common arrangement.
There is a "consensually letting the other person into your mind" thing that allows much deeper access and goes both ways, but this is not something that would just sort of "happen", and would require two people intentionally trying to see how far they could push that connection. This all ends by disabling the device, which is non-trivial.
Endgame: Disabling it is normally accomplished by synthesizing a code to the genetic pattern of a specific person's DNA, and turning that into a computer virus of sorts that would have to be delivered by someone that's a genetic match. This is clearly... not an ideal solution, so if you have ideas / questions / things your character is going to poke at, leave them under the top level.
But if nothing else is done, Ava is going to zap the fuck out of it just before dawn on the 15th.
Once the machine is destroyed the connection breaks, powers will be only with the original holder, and all mental affectations will cease (timing can be customized to player preference with a come-down time of several hours). Memories gained via the event will change in tenor, but not in content: the difference between remembering diving off a high board vs. remembering your friend tell you about that time he dove off the high board.
There is an option for losing memories entirely but only by player desire, and only memories gained through this event.
Opt-Out: Basically anyone who doesn't want to be affected isn't. There's a genetic component, so opt-outs are mostly based on wrong body chemistry. It's more based on resonance and attraction so proximity to the machine is not a yes/no factor. Basically it's entirely possible to be part of the tech crew, but not be personally affected.
So this is a standard OOC plotting post. What are you doing, what are you looking for? Go out there and make connections, kids.

Thank you!

So: yes to the happening spontaneously, though there is canon evidence for the connection strengthening on physical contact. I leave the last question up to you! It's all about quantum entanglement so I could see shifting connections / entanglement, etc.
As far as how they'd hear about it, well, it comes through the portal / the perimeter guard probably know about it / and the other lab in town gets their greedy hands on it. So play with that as thou wilt.
(If Cisco would be inclined to try and track down how/why it happened, lmk)

It would probably be IC for Cisco to investigate all that, but tbh it's a busy time of year for me and I'm trying to stay relatively conservative in terms of the amount of new stuff I'm starting, but thank you! :D It's a neat plot.

That said, if there's anything particular you want to know about the machine, feel free to ask!

But yes, I'm gonna be doing a thing with Ava and trying to stop the machine, so I can ping you when I get that set up!

I am going to do a log for Ava which is going to have the prompts for the device for anyone that still wanted to poke at science things, but given the afore-mentioned RL stuff that'll probably be tonight or tomorrow morning at the earliest.
Sailor G's Characters
Tieria has more in the way of "abilities" to offer than Keith, but Keith's emotions are more intense than Tieria's, so I have a little of both to offer here in regards to powers and emotions. I'm also willing to share memories, sensations, pretty much anything, for both characters.
That said, I'll give a little background on both characters.
Tieria is an Innovade. His normal senses are somewhat enhanced over a human, and he's stronger and more durable. He's also capable of several mental abilities. He's hyperaware due to passive quantum brainwaves that can pick up on things around him at an extremely accelerated reaction time. Essentially, his situational awareness borders on precognition. He's not an actual psychic, it's just a higher level of awareness to those around him and what's happening. His quantum brainwaves also have an active state. This is a conscious use of the ability that enables him mostly to psychically connect to a computer, "cyberpathy" if you will, and use it with just his mind, giving him direct mental access to data and functions of said computer. Most of the time, such a connection works best with a quantum device, but he can do this with others as well. He also has the ability to communicate telepathically with other Innovades, most strongly with those of the same type as himself, but that doesn't come into play in this game at the moment as there are no other Innovades being played here. He can also telepathically connect with Innovators (humans that have evolved through natural means), but, again, there are none in the game, so this is moot. There may be the ability to connect with other psychic/telepathic characters in the game that are not from his canon, and I'm willing to discuss this with anyone borrowing his powers and the character they want to connect with for this event.
Keith has no special powers that he's fully aware of. However, there are hints that he is potentially a low level psychic... something that he plays off as intuition and instinct, but could potentially be more. It's not fully developed in canon, so there's no official word on what it might be. However, he's apparently able to sense quintessence on some level, as he's shown being able to locate the Blue Lion's location and energy on a gut feeling ("Something was telling me to search.") even though he was not the Lion's destined Paladin. He tells the others that he felt a "strange energy" in a particular area, and, combined with Hunk and Pidge doing science things, and the fact that they had Lance with them to open the seal and activate the Lion, his feeling was confirmed to be correct. There are other things in canon that point to this as well, and he mentions a few times having a feeling about something, but not being able to pinpoint exactly what it is.
SO!!! Who's up for plotting? :D
Osomatsu
he's taken from a critical point in the first season where his brothers have all 'abandoned' him. read as, he sees this as abandonment, but they are really just trying to break away from the hold he has on them and do their own thing. they all move out, leaving him alone with his parents. he tries not to think about this too much now that he's been living in Riverview. Osomatsu's actually pretty happy right now! he's got a job, and he's dating someone, and he lives with two of his brothers.
if anyone wants to link up with him, please poke me. i'm open to all CR, good, bad, anime, LA, EVERYTHING.

Secondly, Ava is one of the people it was specifically designed to affect, as well as the individual with the potential to disable to machine via "computer virus based on my genetic code". So if anyone is interested in actually pursuing that angle, let's plot something.
Thirdly, it has the potential to do very different things to Ava than it does to most people. These involve the normal options, but also brainwashing overtures, weird stuff where she can be knocked unconscious via touch and in general while it's fluffy tropes for most people, it gets intensely skeevy for Ava. Making this even more of a delicate subject, the machine being disabled does not actually break the connection for her. So if someone was interested in poking at any of this stuff with her, there would have to be talks about working out how that ends.
I'm not detailing her for the link stuff as between how weird it is for Ava and the fact that if wouldn't end clean, I imagine no one wants to get involved. If I'm wrong, hit me up and we can talk over what sort of stuff she has to share.
She's obviously going to be less than thrilled about all of this happening. So if anyone wants to touch on the fact that Ava is going to be kind of Not Okay At All that's definitely on the table. She might be reaching out to her CR to sort of figure shit out, or she might sort of tell everyone to stay the Hell away from her. I'm still deciding, if either option sounds appealing, let's plot something.
I am admittedly a bit hesitant to force her CR to react, so if you pointedly want in, or pointedly don't, let me know.

As for powers, Link doesn't really have any. All of his skills in game are hinted at being from his training as a knight, so I don't think any of those would transfer. If anyone has any ideas I'm open to them, though I realize Link doesn't have a lot to work with for this event.
