monthly activity check - april

● This month, Activity Check will be open from 10:00 PM EST on May 1st until 10:00 PM EST on May 7th. All comments used as activity proofs must be dated between April 1st to April 30th.

● All players will be required to submit 1 thread of 10 or more comments per character for Activity Check proof.
● However, if your comments are 150 words or more, only 5 comments will be required. In this case, the 5 comments do not need to be consecutive, but they must be part of the same thread.
● Borderline word count comments will generally be 'rounded up.' For examples of what 150 word comments look like, please click here.
● In all cases, threads may be from either the log or network communities.

● Newly accepted characters will not have to provide activity proofs for their first month. They will be required to provide a link to their response on the Taken Characters page, and, if applicable, the Occupations page.
● If a player fails to reply to Activity Check they will be swept, and it will be treated as a drop, including the one-week grace period to rejoin without an application. If a character is swept for non-response and wishes to rejoin during the grace period, they would need to provide activity proof at that time.
● If a player doesn't have enough proof of activity, they may post to the Activity Check with a request for a strike. There is no option for two strikes in a row, so proof must be posted the next month or the character will be swept. If players are showing a pattern of taking a strike every second month, that will be dealt with privately on a case-by-case basis.
● While threads on the Test Drive Meme and individual character inboxes can be submitted for Activity Points, they cannot be used for regular Activity Check.

mission: lost research

Hello fellow players! I'm looking to get a team together for this mission here. Basically, a group of scientists got lost a few weeks ago and Jim wants to go find them. Or find out what happened to them and try and bring back any research they managed to complete.

For this mission, I'm looking for characters with scientific knowledge, and/or some skills in fighting, survival, trekking, scouting, exploration, etc. More specifically:

• one or more characters with scientific knowledge (computer/technology related); Jim is pretty good but I'd love more people.
• three to four members of the Perimeter Guard or skilled fighters for protection;
• optional: one or two people who can help carry supplies.

Dr. Leonard McCoy will be dragged against his will coming along so they'll have someone with extensive medical skills to tend to any potential wounds and injuries.

As for how your character would hear of this mission, if Jim knows them or has seen them around the Perimeter Guard, he might've approached them himself and gauged their interest in joining. Alternatively, I'm up for handwaving him putting up some kind of bulletin ad about the mission (or something, idk), or just do a network post asking for interested parties. Really, if you want in on it, I'll find a way to make it happen.

Lastly, this would be a mission to last at least a couple weeks, so please keep that in mind. It could be interesting to explore more in-depth CR within a smaller group, and to make things easier, this would be a log within which there would be several threads at different points during the mission, as a single thread with more than 3 or 4 characters is nearly impossible to follow with any kind of coherence.

I'm of course up for working out any minor details (re: dangers they encounter, the outcome of the mission, etc.) later on, so if you have a plurk or would rather talk on AIM or discord, let me know here so I can set up a chat later!
