The boost up is nice. For all she looks like Eleanor, clean and pretty and blonde, she's tough too, and Anne can't help but feel a little stir of interest. Anne's not the easiest to knock over, but she's only human, and on the small side, and she'd been caught off. Besides which, she's only fresh out of the hospital and her ribs still twinge every now and again when she moves the wrong way. It's better than she'd been expecting, by far, but it's still enough to have her wrong-footed and feeling a little raw.
"It's a coward then. Makes it easier prey."
Some of the wariness bleeds out of her, she licks chapped lips, and her mouth curves into a slightly crooked smile from beneath the brim of her hat, from behind the sheaf of red hair that hangs at the side of her face. When the girl waves at her and introduces herself, Anne mimics the movement, and nods.
"Anne." she says, voice quiet, the voice of someone who's more accustomed to watching or acting than speaking, and she straightens her clothing for a moment before looking off after the retreating bird, pale eyes narrowed, and produces a knife, holding it at the ready, "If there're more, I'll be ready this time. It's gone off that way, might leave a trail if it lags low enough."
