● threading preferences: I have a mild preference for prose over brackets, simply because brackets are more difficult to type with my obnoxiusly tiny fingers. I have the add-on but forget to use it like 70% of the time, between my mouse being a pain and just not being used to having it, yet.

I don't really have much of a preference, I tend to do prose for logs and action brackets for network stuff - but I also tend to match style so it is basically whatever. I will say though that the whole "past tense for prose and present tense for brackets" is beyond me so if the reason you prefer brackets over prose is to avoid having to use past tense you can just ignore that with me. Like, tag like you would in brackets just... remove the brackets, it's chill.

● threading habits: My tagging has been REALLY BAD the last month or so, and gotten worse due to some personal stuff going on. I'm trying to get back on top of things, I tend to slam through my inbox every day except Tuesday and at least hit up a bunch of tags if not get through them all.

● about you: I am pretty boring tbh. I'm a music fanatic, and always open to rec's. I petsit for a living and have a dog, so if you add me on plurk you'll get animal pics. That's about the height of my excitement. I try to keep my RP plurk on point, but sometimes I will talk about work or health in how it might relate to tagging (I have a migraine, tagging not happening atm etc.) I don't really talk about gender stuff on my public plurk but I'm not entirely shy about it if it comes up. I might also talk about fandom stuff sometimes, OCs or characters I used to play, so it's not strictly about RP anymore tbh. It's public and open to adding or PP'ing for plot stuff!

I try to keep my personal/private plurk to a pretty small audience, because more serious stuff like family and health drama comes up there, it's mostly people I've already known 8+ years.

● occupation: He does a few things with the Perimeter Guard and offers freelance repairs. He just got the General Store from Purg for AC Perks, so Ed and Al will be opening an official repair shop in the next month or two probably.
● residence: Floor Six, Communal Housing. Bed 5 now, specifically.
● about: long version.
The important stuff.

The short of it: Ed is full grown, rather mellow and laid back, he's older and not as quick to jump to the defensive as his canon counterparts. Having been in this sort of situation before (strange new unknown world) he is one to help out when he can, but considering the new environment and his natural tendency to self-preservation he's being very cautious about it for now. He's keeping an eye on anyone he recognizes from previous worlds, even if just to try to stay away from their bad side, but overall he's a well meaning trustworthy person who has a tendency to make other people's business his own. He doesn't necessarily open up or trust easy, but he's quick to make friends and was frequently looked up to or put "in charge" a lot when shit hit the fan previously.

He's also less prone to bouts of PTSD than he was on first arrival (especially during the amnesia plot) so if you want a more laid back, chill Ed to talk to he's calming down and amnesia week would probably be the best time to hit him up.

Ed's pretty handy, repairs and making shit out of thin air are totally his thing.

● what aspect of the game you are most interested in with this character: Personal relationships, mostly. Communal Floor Six Shenanigans, etc. I like to get him involved with people so I put him into situations where there are more people for that reason. Communal housing, helping around where he's probably not needed on the Perimeter Guard, offering to do repairs for total strangers, that sort of thing. I want him to meet more people with artificial limbs, and more mechanics tbh. I want him to get out and meet people that will sort of take him away from his research to have a good time, but also people that will be into research. People with healing abilities!!! Ed is going to decline any offer to restore his limbs, because that would feel like cheating and he's kind of grown attached to the reminder/their usefulness tbh but I want that discussion to happen at some point with someone anyway.

Ed's here for the ties that develop from the circumstances he's put into. I'm not really a slice of life type, so I tend to find him more to do that's plot related or action based but I also have no confidence whatsoever in my action tags so he kind of just hangs in the middle, doing a little of everything tbh. He will be getting himself into all sorts of things, between research, exploring this place, missions that come up and just over plot events in general.

For his own personal reasons, Ed's all about what makes Riverview tick, and finding out why the abandoned city is abandoned. God forbid we take anything we're told at Orientation at face value.

● what plans you have for this character: Exploring the abandoned city and learning about the moon, mod and player plot shenanigans. More found family shit with Floor Six, some interaction with the Salvage & Repair group. SALVAGE & REPAIR MINGLE POST. Septemberis Al's birthday so tentative plans to throw a birthday party, definitely.

Ed is always open to new CR that would be interested in research or going out to make new discoveries. Now that he has the General Store, he'll be converting it for full time repair work and probably eventually turning it into a place to live for him and his brother.

Also, lots of stuff with Al because obviously, and Ed needing to get over some things because he's on a guilt trip a mile long. Which he's actually working towards now? So that's cool.

● shipping/smut preferences: Ed's flexible but tbh he has a few crushes already and a few people crushing on him and none of it is likely to lead anywhere because he's Ed. So unless you want some awkward, potentially unrequited "nothing will ever come of this" storyline probably a no on shipping.

● what your character wants: To figure out if this place is what it says on the tin. Research, exploring, adventure etc. Selfishly, also for Al not to go home, but you know how that works. He really wants to build some strong bonds here, Ed doesn't want to go home, he accepted life in Purg and winding up in Riverview makes him more homesick for that than his own world at this point. He just wants to explore the place, make friends, settle down and be happy for once.

● what your character needs: Sparring partners, to find more people with prosthesis although he has simmered down some about his own paranoia, to learn about the 900 mechanics and engineers this game has, actual friends... He'll totally relax if he figures this actually isn't some crazy new trap, and actually focus on making friends and living here since that's something he learned to do in Purg before being uprooted in the first place. Clearly also to make friends with more people with pokemon, so he feels less like an outlier over that. And of course, everything stated above.

● any open post/ic inbox links: IC Contact/Friendr, great if you need him to alchemy anything. He's going to at least pretend it's not useful for anything else, but feel free to hit him up anyway. Definitely feel free to hit up his inbox if your character has shown an interest in learning about alchemy and they haven't gotten together for that!

I swear it's not a lack of interest, I just plan a lot and then sometimes forget what was actually planned vs. just joking or like it slips my mind because there's just so much going on in there.
