mod post: the TDM and existing characters, enablemeplz ad
Hi everyone! This is just a quick mod post to clarify how players with characters already in the game can benefit from the new plot/mission information on the TDMs, and to solicit wanted character suggestions for this month's EnableMePlz ad!

First off, I want to thank all of the players both existing and prospective who have helped shape the world and mechanics of Riverview through player plots, suggestions, and questions. I am very glad that everyone feels both comfortable and invested enough in the game to contribute to it the way they have!
With the newest test drive meme going up in just over a day from now, I wanted to quickly touch on a bit of a problem I've noticed while writing up this month's! Last month's test drive meme was deeply affected by a player plot, this month's is based around the outcome of a completed mission from the exploration page, and all test drives are meant to be game canon so new players can easily and seamlessly transition their characters from the test drive meme and into regular play in the game. I love this mechanic and don't want it to change.
HOWEVER, that leads to the problem - with the test drive meme being comprised of so much plot that affects the game as a whole, but not counting for monthly activity check, there was a bit of an issue. I don't want current players with characters already in the game to either miss out on the plot provided in the TDM posts, or to use the TDM as a mingle with their own top-levels, which might be intimidating for prospective players and wouldn't count for AC for existing ones.
In order to strike a balance between the two, I've decided that in the interest of keeping that smooth transition between TDM and gameplay that I really like for new characters, I will continue to use the TDM as a way to drop the month's plot. In order to include current characters, the plot details and prompts on the TDM are free to use over the course of the rest of the game.
If you have a character in the game, you are definitely encouraged to tag out to prospective new characters on the test drive. However, if you lack the time or desire to thread on the TDM, but want to use the prompts from the TDM for a regular log, network post, or even a mingle, please do. The events on the test drive are always going to be game canon, and so they can absolutely be referenced, used, and threaded with throughout the entire game.

Over the next week, I will be working up an ad for the upcoming EnableMePlz post for the month. I've included a comment thread in this entry for suggestions for wanted characters. Feel free to ask for characters from your own canons, canons that are not even in the game yet, or broad character types like 'villains' or age brackets you'd like to see more of.
about the mod
Nothing major here, but since I've seen a bit of confusion, just for ease of reference, Riverview only has one mod, and I use 'she' as my prounoun!
