mod post: monthly state of the game
Hi everyone! Sorry this is a day late, but here it is - May's State of the Game post! There's not a lot to say this month, so I'll get right to it!
state of the mod
Thanks to a migraine headache and some life stuff, I've been a bit slow through this app cycle! Thanks to everyone for bearing with me, and for everyone's patience (and well-wishes on the mod plurk)! I'm back in the swing of things, have just finished processing all the applications for this month, will be doing all outstanding list updates and responding to Activity Points requests tomorrow.
● If you have submitted points or an item request to the Activity Points page and have not yet received a response by May 10th at 10:00 PM EST, please contact me by PM with a link to your request. If you have sent the mod a direct PM that has not yet been responded to, please send it to me again.
I was trying to do modwork on my phone while I had a migraine and made the regrettable mistake of deleting all the messages in the mod account's DW inbox. I still have most of it in email notifications, but since I usually use the inbox to track things, I might miss something while combing through email and the various entries - if I do, I'm not ignoring it on purpose, so please let me know.
job promotions
In Riverview's first app round and part of the second, I was still finding my footing with job assignments and was erring on the side of caution when it came to giving player characters power in the city through their jobs. After a few months of observation and testing the waters, I've realized I'm actually more comfortable with granting higher levels of IC responsibility/power through the job assignments than I thought I would be. This means that jobs assigned in the more recent app cycles have been...well, fancier than earlier jobs.
If your character was assigned a job in an earlier app cycle (or a more recent one) that they are overqualified for, and you feel that they would merit a promotion, feel free to request it. On the Occupations page, this can be done by posting a simple note on the page requesting the upgrade. On the Perimeter Guard page, this can be done by replying to my confirmation that your character has been added to the page with a request for a promotion.
ETA: This also applies to alternate jobs! If there's something higher-level that your character is qualified for that they were not assigned, or if they wish to switch careers, you can make those requests on the Occupations page at any time!
app cap status
As of now, we have 111 characters accepted into the game (by my count). The total game cap is 150 characters, which means that, as of now, we only have 39 character slots remaining for upcoming app cycles.
While I have not yet felt overwhelmed by the size of the game, I'm looking at some work-related availability changes over the next month, so I will hold the cap at 150 characters until I get a feeling for my ongoing workload. After I get my footing with the cap at 150, I might consider bumping it up to 200 in the future, but for now it will stay as is.
things to do...
Not a terribly long list of things this month:
● The city is celebrating the recent legalization of polyamorous marriages allowing three or more marriage participants. Many clubs are having mixers for couples and singles looking to hook up, and new options have been added to many dating apps.
● Characters can adopt domestic foxes in almost any pet shop (does not require Activity Points).
● The Blood and Tissue Drive is still ongoing, providing ethical food for anyone who eats sentient-meat or sentient-blood. Donate today!
