riverviewooc | masquerade: ooc auction signs up

Hey folks, as per Doom's announcement, there will be a bachelor/ette component at the masquerade, and this here post is for signing up, and for finding potential bidders. This way everyone has the opportunity to make their decisions about who they want to ~win~ their character's auction OOCly, rather than getting into IC bidding wars (unless you want to have IC bidding wars, in which case, be my guest) and worrying about who has the most money.

You can sign up your character along with their highest bidder in the thread here, using the very simple form below, once decisions are made. Until then the rest of this post can be used as a plotting post. Just drop a comment with a little description of your character including if they'd have given a preference for bidders, and interested parties can say hi! If you're super popular and having trouble deciding, feel free to RNG the bidders to make the decision easier.

NOTE: OOCly, everyone needs to agree that their character signed up for the auction, but you're welcome to say they were volunteered by someone else ICly, Doom don't care.

NOTE 2: As a response to some questions we got, I've got a couple clarifying points
1) Is there a limit to how many bids a character can place/win? No, but don't be a dick, let other folks have the opportunity to win auctions and build CR!
2) Can characters bid on behalf of someone else? Yes, but make sure it's OOCly discussed and don't use it as a way to get around preferences
3) What is the IC set up going to be? There will be a stage in the main hall where the bachelor/ettes will go up, with someone (Doom?? Loki?? Who knows) announcing/managing the bids. You can assume characters will have been asked to provide a little spiel about themselves, but you don't have to actually write it if you don't want.

tbh, I think if he won it, he'd be pleased enough in that little victory that he'd just make her be around him all night. Drinking sullenly, if she must, but he wouldn't let her leave because haha, he paid and won. He got a date.

He's got 'things' going on right now, so even with no chip, he wouldn't be too pushy. The offer would be there, and he might bring it up again near the end of the night, but that's about it. It'd really be about making her spend time with him out of spite.

HAHA look, I am so up for all of this, okay...

She'll try to get out of it, auction or no auction, because she's an asshole. BUT EVENTUALLY if he just bribes her with enough booze, she'll stay. The beginning of a beautiful friendship.
