● threading preferences: I usually prefer brackets for the format (I still use introspection in the text inside) but I will match no problem. I end up doing about medium length tags, but I also try to match a similar amount from the tag before. Feel free to set the format if you’re tagging in.
● threading habits: Right now I have been on sick leave, so I have been able to do at least one tag a day. I return to work next week, so depending upon how busy I am it might be every-other-day. I’m going to find out soon, in any case. I’ll plurk how things are going.
I try my best to give good hooks, and making sure each party is enjoying the thread. Let me know if you want things to go in a different direction, or whatnot.
● about you: Still fairly new to the game, but been RPing on DW / LJ for… many years? I have taken months or year long breaks in-between until a muse strikes me and I always end up coming back.
I am and American living in Sweden to be with my wife (who also plays here) and I work with dogs (at least for another month, then idek what they’ll place me with)

● name: Odo
● age: “Discovered” about 38 years ago as an undeveloped changeling. Before his discovery… ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ He’s considered quite young by changeling standards.
● occupation: In canon: Chief of Security of a space station. In game: Police Officer, working on moving up to detective in a few months.
● residence: Communal Housing; Floor 8, Bed 8 – but he really only drops by to charge his phone. He might keep a couple of things there. He keeps his bucket at Beverly Crusher’s place. I plan on having him find his own place after he gets a promotion.

He is a Changeling, so he can take the forms of various objects / animals with varying degrees of success. It also means he has to regenerate / revert back to his liquid form once every 16 hours.
Outwardly he comes off as a grump, and only interested in justice and order.
Social gatherings are NOT his thing, and he is a very private person. That said, inside he is quite a sensitive man, and takes things to heart. He is kind to children and sympathetic to those in an institutionalized or "trapped" situation.
At his canon point he has made some progress with social skills and being less of a grump, however being shoved into a new environment will likely cause some of that to regress as a defense mechanism.
He has real identity / belonging issues, because for a long time he didn't even know what he was, and wasn't being treated as a sentient life form. (To be fair, he was a pile of goo at the time.) After actually finding his people, he found out that they are asshats and doesn't want anything to do with them... except that he does. Because it's home to be with them in the link.
Because of this he also tends to cling to being security chief as part of his identity rather than just a job.
It will take a while to form friendships here before he can be more open about his inner thoughts and vulnerabilities.
● what aspect of the game you are most interested in with this character: I would like him to be able to do his police work / detective work. Slice of life is a little hard to pull off with him because he does not want to have a life but in time I would like him to get more willing to be here and I think that will be easier then.
Criminal types or general nuisance makers are welcome CR!
● what plans you have for this character: Nothing too special at the current time. He’s still adjusting. CR making is the focus, with the ultimate goal of having friendships where he can feel comfortable.
However I might have something fun for the future. Odo is unaware he is infected with a Morphogenic virus. It’s going to be months before he manifests symptoms, but it would be good to have some medical/doctor/healer friends for when the time comes.
● shipping/smut preferences: I'm not really into playing out smut.(I don't find it offensive, just usually not interesting.) As for shipping, he canonically is in a relationship with Kira Nerys at his canon point. I play him as asexual but romantic. If for any reason he could get over Kira, I am open to cross canon shipping options if it feels right, Romantically he leans towards the feminine, but there’s no reason for him not to be open to other options.
● what your character wants: To find a way back, to keep order, and preserve his privacy.
● what your character needs: Friendships that will allow him to open up, job-oriented tasks to keep his mind off things. To find a place where he belongs.
● any open post/ic inbox links: IC Inbox, Open prompts at the Harvest Festival
● anything else: Please note! Odo has a tendency to want to “back away slowly” from uncomfortable situations of which… there are a lot for him. So it might seem like I’m trying to end the thread, when I’m really not. Sometimes we have to get creative to keep the conversation going – feel free to talk to me about it!
