● about: "Rather than a person who hurts others, become the person getting hurt. A kind person finds happiness in just that". This is what kaneki learned from his mother, and he follows this. he is incredibly kind, gentle, he is shy and also awkward, very quiet and doesn't speak his mind. Tends to be selfless, doesn't have much confidence in himself and sees himself as weak, but even so he is trying hard to become stronger in order to protect the ones he loves. AND THEN HE WAS TURNED INTO A GHOUL who are cannibal people basically and... that... sucks a lot. Kaneki hates that ghoul part, but above all, he is SCARED of the ghoul part. He has to balance the fact that he is now forced to do something terrible, and the fact that ghouls aren't not monsters. Kaneki's life is full of suffering.

● what aspect of the game you are most interested in with this character: I really want to get him settled with CR Kaneki can trust enough to open up more. He is introvert, has a very hard time getting close to people despite being nice to everyone and so I want him to meet others he can talk to, feel close to and be with. because Kaneki without people to rely on is like someone spiraling down he is terrible at being alone.
● what plans you have for this character: None for now, except for the above!
● shipping/smut preferences: I'm fine with it! But please be gentle, Kaneki's first and last date tried to literally eat him.

● what your character wants: He really just wants friends and not be a freak. He is in a situation where he IS a freak and he hates himself. So he also wants to keep that well hidden.
● what your character needs: He really needs someone to get him to open up. Kaneki is never actually truthful about what he feels, what he thinks. He keeps all of that locked away because he can't bother others and he lacks self-esteem in every way. He has a lot of issues that he doesn't tackle down, he is incapable of making choices or even saying "no". Kaneki is easily manipulated and makes some bad choices in life; I'm 100% okay with someone making use of that, but he really needs someone that he can rely on.

● about: stats + permissions; application; Eddie is an observant, cocky, quick-thinking, decisive police detective with a heart of gold and a massive hero complex. ...and despite all that stuff about him being smart, he's also kind of a ditz when it comes to science and pop culture. He's not terribly creative either, and can be a bit passive-aggressive, but he's very good-natured and will definitely take a bullet to protect you even if he doesn't know you. He's coming right from his death at the end of season one, where he took the aforementioned bullet to save everyone he loves, so he's got a few issues that he's just starting to address. Expect him to be burying himself in his work, being cheerful, and trying to cover all of that up with smiles.

● what aspect of the game you are most interested in with this character: CR building (especially found family and friendships) and maybe some exploration missions.
● what plans you have for this character: Learning wizard magic from Taako; having some cold case that needles at him long-term; trying to work through his post-death issues.
● shipping/smut preferences: This whole end of things is quite neatly wrapped up, so I'm not looking for anything for him!

● what your character wants: People to take care of. Things to do. Not to think too much. Friends. Found family. A team.
● what your character needs: All of the above. Plus therapy, probably. Also, Eddie isn't the typical 'stoic' type at all, but he uses his friendliness and cheerfulness and eagerness to help as a shield, and really needs people who are willing to push past that. He's got a lot of really nasty lingering issues related to the failure of his relationship, his two-week kidnapping in canon, and his death. His instinct is to brush them off or stop talking about them ASAP, so some close CR that will push him to open up about his feelings would be absolutely spectacular. It might not be pretty because Eddie is bad at dealing with his own negative feelings, but it's something he really needs.

While Natsume's background wasn't always poor—well, I say "always" because he has spent most of his life passed around from household to household, heaped upon and then sent away by distant relatives. There were so many homes that they lent many different experiences, but it's made clear that the majority of these families weren't emotionally kind... and several of them weren't physically kind, either. This is some stuff he's never addressed with anyone else or even himself, but I think a big part of that emotional denial is he hasn't spoken with anyone else from an abusive background. I can see some potential for a slowburn friendship here.

● about: Anderson is an idealist from a dystopia. Her life is hard. She's a bit of a hardass when the situation calls for it, but she's a big marshmallow inside, trust me. She's also a mutant and a telepath/empath, which you can find the permissions for over here.

● what aspect of the game you are most interested in with this character: What I'm most interested in is slow burn character growth, and complicated, multi-faceted CR. Moral conundrums and emotional intimacy are my jam. I'm frankly bad at action scenes (which is great since I am now playing an action movie protagonist, but ok, self). I'm willing to give them a try regardless!
● what plans you have for this character: I'm taking a leaf from the Dredd comics and am going to be mirroring her slow, gradual realization that the Judge system is intolerable and unethical. This is gonna take her a long ass time, but that's the eventual goal. For right now, she's getting settled in and figuring out how to handle a calmer life with nicer people.
● shipping/smut preferences: I would love to ship with her, especially F/F, although Judges are not supposed to have romance at all so that'll be a fun obstacle. I do enjoy non-standard and non-endgame ships in particular, so if you want to mess around with something that is doomed to end poorly, never ends up going anywhere and remains a what-could-have-been flirtation, or anything else, let me know!
    I'm willing to write smut to further character development or CR, or if it's something psychologically interesting, but smut for smut's sake isn't something I'm interested in.

● what your character wants: She would like chill, casual friends who are not criminals. She also wants to do a lot of the aforementioned normal-modern-person things and learn how to be the best cop she can be by the Quarantine's standards. People who commit crimes-- I would love to work out plots, whether they get caught/punished or not. Anderson's best quality is that, despite her hardass stickler by-the-book approach, she is willing to break the law for the right reason. She also needs to get a motorcycle, because Judges normally have them.
● what your character needs: Anderson needs to make some honest, deep connections to really experience a support system, and she furthermore needs some experiences that will make her doubt her worldview. Despite being a squishy, earnest person, she still is caught in the mindset of a Judge, which is very shoot now, ask questions later, take no chances. She's been in a survival mindset for basically her entire life, and undoubtedly has some pretty bad PTSD at this point. She's seen a lot (a lot) of shit, because she interrogates criminals by going into their heads, where they do things like try to retaliate with graphic imagery of raping her. Anderson never reacts to this, but damn, that has to leave a mark, and she needs a chance to deal with it.
    It would also do her some good to provide that sort of personal, human support to someone else. I am super happy to play background/side roles in other plots. And finally, people who are wholly accepting and open regarding her ability to read them psychically would do a world of good for her, but she's not expecting it.

I think these two would get along! Adam also likes books and has some psychic experience (and just got his tarot cards from home if Tsumugi is interested in those?).

● what plans you have for this character: At the moment, he's wrapping his head around this new world, as well as his own decision to throw himself and Hannibal off a cliff and everything that lead up to that decision.

Quentin is coming from a society, the post-Reconstruction South, that has essentially crumbled and is struggling to figure out how and where to move forward, and he's coming into a society that too needs to rebuild, so I think that has some interesting potential.
● what plans you have for this character: Right now I'm just dipping my feet in the water, trying out CR and seeing where it takes me.

● about: In general, he's a high schooler, polite, kind of quiet, a little awkward but that's not so bad. The next layer of him is someone even more awkward than at first glance; he seems unsure of how to take in the kindness of others without instinctively wanting to somehow "earn" it. Go deeper still and you find a boy who is sweet but very secretive, hiding things that he seems to be—afraid of? He comes across as someone who very much wants to say something, but ends up closing his mouth again at the last moment. He's much more honest about himself than he used to be—he remarks that he's not so good at lying anymore—but his smiles are still frequently used to pacify others. Don't worry, or don't be angry, that sort of thing. Mild in deference.

The deepest part of him you can find—and that he hopes no one will find—is that he has a special sight, an ability to see otherworldly spirits and creatures. During childhood, he was ridiculed for his reactions of fear to these creatures, written off as a kid trying too hard to get attention, or worse, a kid who was crazy. Now he makes every effort to hide what he sees from everyone else. Still, it can be obvious that something's wrong when you watch him pale at the sight of nothing, startle in concern, or randomly run off.

He's physically weak (noodle arms!) and gets sick quite easily, but is always doing all that he can to protect people; he sees it as a kind of duty. His spiritual power is very strong, so that's how he lends his aid when possible. He also ends up doing favors for people way more than he intends to... Even through his exasperated sighs, it's hard not to help, okay?

● what aspect of the game you are most interested in with this character: Definitely, definitely, the opportunities for emotional intimacy. Natsume's canon is a long-running slowburn showcasing emotional development and the strengthening of bonds. I'm hopeful to see Natsume continue to grow and grow and grow and grow.
● what plans you have for this character: Not so many, yet! He arrived only recently—I've made a network post with him but am eager to branch out.
● shipping/smut preferences: I'm not inclined toward smut, and any romance with Natsume would be the slowest of slowburns. The show is very much devoid of romance with its recurring characters (with the exception of one horndog high schooler), despite some shoujo tier teasing between Natsume and two of his friends. Either way, personally I see it as that nothing's set in stone, so m/f or m/m is fine here. Just... seriously. The slowburn would be outrageous.

● what your character wants: To find a place where he can feel he "belongs"—he does want to go home, but the guidelines of who are brought to Riverview have convinced him that he simply wasn't meant to be there, as much as he adored it. Even if he loved his home, he did feel out of place there, and so here he is.
● what your character needs: ...Therapy?!?!? Or, at least, he has some stuff regarding childhood abuse he needs to work through, or, like, even... address, in any capacity. He hasn't addressed it with anyone, at any point—on the very rare occasion it's intimated at by anyone else, Natsume waves it off as no big deal and then clams up.

He doesn't feel any more a part of Riverview than Faerun (having already been stared at a bunch), but integrating into a community that isn't instantly prejudiced against him is a good path. Angela kind of has a Thing about dark elves, in that she's fought a ton of them and kind of hates their leader (at least in her universe). The Norse-based dark elves of Marvel's Svartalfheim are slightly different than the D&D drow but she would definitely have a kneejerk reaction were they to come face to face. And since they're both perimeter guards, that could very well happen.

He's in space now. Far from Earth. He needs something new to set his sights on, because at this point he's starting to realise he'll never see home again--and he might actually be okay with that once he calms his shit down.
● shipping/smut preferences: Reaper's a really tough nut to crack, so even getting to the point of romance with him is going to be unbelievably hard. He wouldn't go for anyone terribly younger than him, either, even if he were to loosen up just a bit, so if I were to ship him with anyone they would have to at least be in their 30s or over. ...And they would have to get over the fact that he looks and feels like a corpse, too. And breathes smoke.
So, if he can find someone who accepts any and all of those pretty extreme flaws, I'm pretty much open to anything.
